Seems like they caught this girls killers, but they didnt do it themselves..oh no. As stated in the article, one suspect surrendered himself to police and the other they needed to bring real cops with them (state parole agents) to make the arrest.

Also in my travels this evening I saw someone who was cruising get popped on 20th and Int'l...2 cops there for an older guy who was obviously harmless...way to go tough guys :\ Besides, they were blocking traffic...wonder if there is a way for me to write em a parking ticket.

Meanwhile back in the mayors office ole Jerry is keeping his trap shut after sticking his foot in it the other day. The only thing the man can do is visit places and point out everyones deficiencies.

Grow some hair on your gonads OPD....I saw open drug dealing on Int'l near 80th (thereabouts) and these fuckers were doing it openly...wanna solve your problems? Go after the gangs in that area ... you get them out, you solve your murder problems...HELLO...IS THIS THING ON???

If you want to cut down on the murder rate, maybe do something drastic like quaratine the problem areas. Get the CA Guard to set up armed checkpoints for all ingress/egress. Start patrols with HMMVs and deploy infantry with M16's. Lock it down. Defend the area. To cut down on racial tension, I'd say we match the Guard troops to the ethnicity of the zones they're protecting.

Not very popular with civil liberties advocates, but hell, once Homeland Security is passed this will be life in the US anyway. It's what we do in other countries, so why not here? God Bless the New World Order.

Nothing they do gets them anywhere because they have a few problems:

1. The public in Oakland has NO RESPECT for them .. seems they have a rep for harassing folks who aren't the ones committing the crimes.

2. They harass harmless folks (the homeless and SW's and Johns) Seems to me if you get rid of one problem, the others will follow, or was I just dreaming that is what happened in SF?

3. Their officers are more intent on staying in their cars instead of getting out and looking around.

Ok, so Brown is making SOME progress...he is upping the rent in Oakland and property values are on the rise. What he didnt bargain for is that when you make it impossible for people to live and work in the same community, folks get desperate.. 1+1=2 Brown..listen up.

As for OPD...well they are who they are...school yard bullies with a hidden agenda.

Can anyone PLEASE explain to me how cracking down on sideshows (With the city spending VALUABLE resources on a simple problem) prevents murders? Can someone explain why the city spends valuable time and resources to combat SW's and Johns when the REAL problems are far removed from these neighberhoods where the sideshows and SW happens?

Dont get me wrong...I think sideshows are a dangerous thing that all too easily get out of hand. But when the city is spending MILLIONS to combat this problem, and ignores where the REAL problems are, then something needs to be said .. and done about it. Rather than being in a proactive mode to SW's and Sideshows ... and reactive to murders .. maybe they need to switch it around and become PRO-Active on murders and RE-active on Sideshow and SW's.

Does anyone remember the heydays of cruising? I mean really..remember when San Mateo was the hotspot to go out and be seen? Remember that the cops never hassled folks until it started to get out of hand, then they became reactive to it. 1 ... maybe 2 cops was on hand during the evening just patrolling the general area...that in my opinion, is a good use of resources.

Does anyone agree with me or am I just yelling into an abyss?

There has been at least one fatality that I've heard of due to sideshows in Oakland. I'm not aware of any fatalities caused by johns lookin' for love.

Its one thing to have the officers out there, its another to make sure that they are doing their jobs and cruising the neighberhoods...instead of being up on International harassing the homeless and SW's. Lets face it..OPD is afraid to do real police work because the community has no respect for them, therefor making them a target when they go into these neighberhoods.

Numbers..facts..figures..opinions, they all DO NOT LIE! OPD has to re-train their officers to be Police Officers instead of schoolyard bullies..maybe then they can do something about this problem.

In the meanwhile ole Moonbeam Brown seems to deem it necessary to call out for help from the CHP and S.O. to help their officers learn what it is like to be real men. What does this translate to for us? CHP AND the S.O. doing the REAL police work in the neighberhoods which leaves OPD to continue their schoolyard bullying. Way to go Moonbeam.

And what is MORE incredulous is there is a majority of votes on this poll that indicates spending valuable resources on sideshow is more important. Can someone who voted in favor of it being a good idea PLEASE tell me WHY!!??

Its pretty sad when I drive up a street and get accosted at 3 different corners in 3 blocks with folks wanting to sell me drugs. And there is nothing I can do about it, my job requires me to go into the neighberhoods.

Meanwhile, seems there hasnt been a homicide for at least a few days. Thank God for that, especially since I listened with great emotion to the wife of #98 explain her situation at wild 94.9 .. http://www.wild949.com Seems her husband had went to Mickey D's to get a happy meal for his son, and he never returned. How is that kid going to live with the guilt of that? Its not his fault, but because OPD spins their wheels in the wrong direction, he has to live with it.

Lets hope OPD gets their act together and harass the folks that need harassing instead of the homeless and SW's and Johns. Priorities OPD .. priorities.
