A urinary tract infection is not an STD. It is simply when strange bacteria gets in the wrong place. Often women get in from too much sweaty sex, also known as "Honeymoon Cystitis". Either a woman's vaginal, or anal bacteria somehow gets shoved up in her urethra and then there is an infection that must be cured by antibiotics. Men get it much less frequently because their urinary tract is longer, so it is harder for bacteria to migrate. If what you have is a urinary tract infection, it is not something that the provider necessarily "gave you". It is likely that some of her bacteria, which is foreign to your body, got shoved up in your urethra. The best way to avoid UTI's for both men and women is to wash right after sex.

I got my first UTI when I was 17. My boyfriend had a really huge cock, and we could never do it unless we used lube. He had the bright idea that mineral oil was okay. It took me like 4 months to get rid of it. (remember, any kind of oil is BAD on your privates )

The funniest thing that happened with this guy (and mind you, he was REALLY big, so big that it was not a good thing) was when we thought we would be clever and buy a lotion sample at the drug store to use as lube. (We were too embarresed to buy K-Y) We were in my car, and he applied the lotion. He kept applying it and said that it was not becoming wet and slippery. Finally, we turned on the car light, and it turned out we had bought a facial mud mask sample!! So, it just dried out on his cock!! We laughed so hard that we never did get back in the mood that night. And of course we raced back to his house so he could wash the mask off.

I bet it was nice and silky smooth after the mask though!

"Who was that masked one eyed bandit?"

"I'm not sure, he came into town, fired a few rounds and left all half cocked"

Sorry for the bad joke...

Always,

Rick gave her that and man that was a good sight.
I think she does not let anyone else do that to her. In my opinion that was her first one as well. I did see it and man what a nice sight. She may have the pics on her website. Pay and see the pic before you do anything.
I promise you it is a nice sight.

First of all I find it distastefull. Secondly, I find it much to intimate an act to do with someone I am not in love with. And, I really do not want to be in contact with the bodily fluids of a stranger.

Only water based lube is okay, like K-Y, or Aqualube. K-Y liquid is my fave.

I was under the impression the problem with oil based lubes is that they degrade latex. Is there also a problem with direct contact with your mucosa?

One can use oils for lubricant if one has one of these newfangled polyurethane condoms, n'est-ce pas? Or are you also saying that oil-based is bad for reasons other than condom degradation?

I was thinking of trying out polyurethane condoms some time, just so I can play with more oil-based things. Even whipped cream is essentially oil-based, and I can think of some tasty things to do with it that might interfere with later condom use....

You cannot use oil based lubricant if you are going to have sex with someone else. You can use it to jack-off, but not if you are going to have vaginal sex with a woman. If you do, you will most likely give her a bladder (UTI) infection and/or a yeast and/or bacterial infection.

24. "RE: Better living with chemistry?"
Nicole, your right on. The differences might have to do with chemistry. The majority if not all of the water based lubes (Astroglide, KY etc) have bacterialcidal agents in them. So with multiple use contamination with yeast and bacteria may occur but the bugs are killed. With oil based products, the bacterialcidal agents are not there because they will not solubilize in the oil. Hence yeast and baterial will grow in them and then be innoculated into the recipient. Because of the shorter urethra, women then are more suscepitble to bugs getting pushed up into the urethra.

To the other post, it is petrolium based lubes (Vaseline, Mineral oil) that dissolves latex. I would presume (but don't know) that the oils in whipped cream, which are milk fats would not (or much more slowly)dissolve latex. Polyurehane should hold up quite nicely to a whip cream / chocalate / strawberry "popsicle".

25. "RE: Dilemma on Lubricants"
Wow - I thought I was pretty experienced on this stuff being a connaisseur of lubricants - but I guess I'm not. I never heard of this infection issue for oil based lubricants. However it does explain a UTI that a girlfriend got when we weren't using condoms.

The problem is what to use when the woman is using her hand to stimulate me prior to intercourse? - (usually for round two)

I find the water based lubricants like Astroglide to be LOUSY for handjobs - They are too slippery when they're wet at first to get adequate friction and they dry out very fast into a sticky mess.

I like a mix of vaseline and baby oil - vaseline first and then baby oil added later to diminish the stimulation. But these are oil based - so according to this new information - will tend to cause infections for the women.

Are there any water based lubricants that are better?

26. "RE: Dilemma on Lubricants"
K-Y liquid has gotten high marks from the recipients who I know. And it does not dry up and get sticky. You may have to re-apply after about 20-30 minutes, but that's pretty good for a water based lubricant.

27. "Good Vibrations"
There are some excellent water based lubricants that don't dry up that fast and are not too sticky.
Best place to shop is Good Vibrations in SF on Valencia near 22nd street. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, so don't be afraid to ask for a recommendation.
There is one kind that heats up when you blow on it, and some of the women I know just went wild when it was used right before oral sex. It comes in flavors like cherry and vanilla, which taste pretty good when you are eating.
