jitrudi (28 posts) 14-Apr-01, 07:05 PM (PDT) "not sure where this belongs" I was walking past the o'farrel theatre late last night @1:00am and outside was an armed city looking cop....what is up with that? Have never been there but seemed odd! I also on my walk noticed a massage parlor on o'farrel about two blocks down on the other side and upstairs (2nd fl), is that new or an I just out of it? I'm not sure how this works, or if they still do it, but SFPD has (used to, anyway) this thing called Special Police, or Special Patrol, where businesses can hire real cops as 'security guards' for their businesses. When I was a kid growing up in SF they used to even drive around in unmarked cars and shine a spotlight into the businesses who 'hired' them etc. If you see him/her there again, check out his shoulder patch. Looks just like SFPD but will say "Special Patrol" or something different like that.
