Cheap Skate* 07-Nov-00, 02:26 PM (PDT) "New Century Theater" Are there small rooms on the first level for private dances? Looking at a floor plan depicted on the NC web site, there seems to be a few. "RE: New Century Theater" Hi I work at the New Century and there are different themed room on the main floor (Backstage) and Upstairs (VIP) and the one you see in the NC website are little $20 lapdance booths, no one ever uses those booths, maybe if your undecided about the girl you can use that booth to test her out a little sample you can call it! But the rooms are very big actually and private with securiy to make sure that there are no interuptions. The rooms always have a long bed (like a single size bed) and it has a pillow on it, there's a chair a lamp and table towel dipencers and hand sanitizer and a hook for you coat! Second, NC was the first adult club I visited 3 years ago and THEN it was sleazy looking but service was pretty darn good. I used to go there so often that the 2 guys that work the front sometimes, know me! Many of the girls who used to work there are now gone or working at MSC where they can practice their TRUE profession. Haven't seen Angelique, the 2 russian ladies, Cinnamon, or many others there in a lonnnnng time. Yes, there are a lotta cute girls there now, but they only offer VERY over-priced HJ's. Reality is, that for that kinda $$ I'm looking for a little more. And, I used to get it. And, I can still get it elsewhere. My ATF left there cuz she said it was constantly changing and always costing the girls more and more (rules, money, etc.). While the booths are fairly private, I have been interrupted by some of the hired hands who "walk" around the club. There's only one girl there still (that I know) who gives extras BUT her price doubled since the first time I saw her - no thanks. The private rooms at NC seem to be 10x better than the public booths with curtain at MSC. The last time I was at MSC, my provider (who turned out to be a ROB) interupted another customer getting FS in one of those booths. I miss the $2 laps. Then it was $5 for the longest time, then it shot up to $20 like overnite. Now if you want topless, that doubles, and if you want full nudity or some contact, it doubles again. I know housing has gone up a lot, but the laps are way out of whack. SF is the highest in the country for laps. I've cut down because of the price. If the prices were cut in half, it would still be more than fair and I'd go more often. MSC and MBOT update their sites daily, why can't NC??? When customers have a good experiance at a club, it's usually because of a dancer. They get hooked on one particular dancer and want to see her over and over again. Having an accurate schedule posted dailey would help repeat customers find their favorites. Tell the management at that club that it's the dancers that bring in the customers...not free soda and obnoxious DJ's. I like what they did with the club, but it seems like they don't treat the dancers very well and some of the dancers take it on the customers and that's why people stay away. Treat the dancers better(No more stupid fines). Update the schedules daily and kill the idiot DJ's and you would have an awesome club. The private rooms in their are killer and if management makes the right customer and dancer friendly changes that club would rock every night. He could pay rent and overhead out of the coin tray in his car. Stage fees are an outrageous idea. I hope the Exotic Dancer's Alliance and others have great success in improving working conditions, ending the ridiculous "independent contractor" fictions, etc., but the owners are a very resourceful, very determined, very slimy bunch of people. "Live Nude Girls Unite!" is a great documentary about unionizing the Lusty Lady. It was a very hard battle, despite the fact that the LL's management was far less slimy to begin with than any of the places we talk about here. I agree that the club owners are getting too much money now, but it was the dancers from a few years ago that have fucked it up for the rest of them now. Girls bitched and whined about having to pay a 25 or 50 fee. And then some sued to become "employees" and not independent contracters. Supposidly because they wanted "benefits". I believe that these were Mitchel Bros. girls. That started what is now the quota system. That is way more screwed up than it was before. I mean, these girls were making 50-100,000 a year TAX FREE! They could have bought their own insurance!! When I started a MSC, the stage fees were 100. I thought that was fair. I never once missed my quota. Sometimes I did not walk away with a ton, but I made plenty. If those stupid girls had just left well enough alone, the quota system would have been a lot slower to be implemented. I just think that unionizing is not really smart for strippers. It has done more harm than good. But it's one of the oldest "keep the workers under your heel" tricks in the book, beloved of union busters everywhere: when workers protest unfair working conditions, make things even worse so that those who tried to change things will look like the bad guys (or at least idiots) to their fellows less inclined to rock the boat. Now the more cautious workers and those who can't afford to risk anything keep the troublemakers in line for you. I *think* (but of course will defer to Nicole's superior knowledge) some of the original complainants had also worked at a time when they could expect to make good money without doing illegal extras (unless you count plain ol' lap dancing as illegal). Can you reliably make good money at MSC or NC these days without doing at least HJs? For the women who expect to do extras as part of the job (most of 'em now), and certainly for horny clients, the "new stripper world order" is a better deal -- more sex is available for clients, more money available for dancers (and of course the owners are making *way* more money). But I still think that Sam and the DV owners are not worthy to clean Nicole and her co-workers' shoes with their tongues. Not that all girls did extras, but some did, and management looked the other way. My friend said that he used to give a dancer some $$$ and he wore sweats and she would ride him while he watched the New York Live show. And my husband's ex used to work at NC about 5 years ago and there were hj's and bj's going on then. And she worked at MSC one time, before the back was opened up, and she said that there were hj's going on in the audience. I also think that internet chat rooms, such as this one and Tuscle, have as much to do with prostitution(or more) than the club management. My husbands ex worked day-shift at the NC about 5 years ago and would take home at least 800 for doing no more than hj's. Now guys talk about what they did for how much and that has driven prices down. Good for guys, bad for dancers. I think that most guys back then did not see dancers as prostitutes and therefore they got more $$ for doing less. Now these chat boards have changed all that. At least to some extent. Also, girls that do not want to do extras can work at clubs that don't have them such as the deja-vu clubs and CH or Lusty Lady. And, in my opinion, MSC was not a bad place to work. At least not all the male employees are walking through the dressing room, like at Showgirls. (they do not even have chairs in the dressing rooms there because they don't want you to take breaks) and there are not cameras watching your every move either. And even though guys give the DJ's at MSC shit for not being very clear on their annoucements, at least they do announce you in a dignified manner. At Showgirl's and other DV clubs DJ's shout things like "look at her pussy!". You are making anywhere from $100-300 for one half hour of work. (if you want to call that work) You are not being taxed for the income you receive. In most cases you(not you personally)the service is rushed and not that high quality kind. For each one of you that gives a decent session for the money you are paid there are 3-4 that rip us off and could care less if we received our money's worth of service.
